Use this guide for instructions on using your Portal and increasing the longevity of your new wearable art piece. 

 

Quick-start Guide

To POWER ON:  Hold the UP button for 3 seconds

To POWER OFF: Hold the DOWN button for 3 seconds 

To CHANGE PATTERNS: Press the RIGHT and LEFT buttons to select the light pattern you desire 

Having trouble turning on your Portal? Ensure that it is adequately charged and follow the instructions above. If issues persist, please email Hello@portalmirrors.com so we may help you troubleshoot. 

 

Care

Treat your Portal with the same care that you would an expensive piece of electronic equipment.

Storage

  • Store your Portal in a cool, dry area. 
  • DO NOT LEAVE ON THE DASHBOARD OR GLOVEBOX OF YOUR CAR. The heat could melt your Portal or cause the battery to malfunction.

Cleaning

  • Clean the mirrors gently using the included microfiber cleaning cloth
  • Do not use cleaning chemicals. The liquid and fumes can damage the mirrors and cause them to permanently fog up.

Rain & Humidity

  • Portals are rugged, but Portals are not waterproof and can be damaged if exposed to rain or heavy fog.
  • If the internal mirrors become foggy, they will typically clear up if you store in a cool, dry place for 2-3 days. 

Food

  • Do not eat food or drink liquids while wearing your Portal.

Safety

Portals are fun to wear, but there are a few common-sense guidelines that should be followed:

  • Portals are not intended for children 12 years of age or younger.
  • Consult your doctor if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
  • Immediately stop wearing your Portal if you experience neck pain.
  • Portal necklaces can snag on clothing & backpacks while dancing, creating a potential choking hazard.
  • Do not wear your Portal while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Be safe, mindful, and have fun! But ultimately, "wear at your own risk".

Charging

Portals contain sensitive electronics and a Lithium-Ion battery. To ensure longevity:

  • Only use the USB-C charging cable that was included with your Portal.
  • Do not attempt to overcharge the battery.
  • Do not unscrew the back cover or modify the electronics in any way.
